There is also an interesting interview with Dr Kirsty Howey, Co-Director of Environment Centre NT, about Territory Sands possibly embarking on silica sand mining from the Betaloo Basin (up to 100 million tonnes of sand) at Newcastle Waters at 14:55 minutes to 16:00 minutes.

Issue 34 of the Territory Q magazine has a fascinating story about the construction of the Overland Telegraph Line (OTL) from Adelaide to Darwin, of which celebrates its 150th year this year – the sesquicentenary. In addition, foundation mate Sally Martin again wrote a tribute about Tommy Dodd who had reputable horse riding skills.
